Imphal:
The Bharatiya Janata Party has urged the chief electoral officer (CEO) in Manipur for setting up election control room, particularly in Thoubal assembly constituency, where their candidate Oinam Indira is pitted against Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh.
A party spokesman told mediapersons here that they had submitted a letter to the CEO demanding special measures like setting up of control rooms which will function round-the-clock and Central forces for the security of their Thoubal candidate.
Reports from Thoubal district said a meeting of Oinam Indira was allegedly disrupted by supporters of other candidates a few weeks ago.
