My Duty to Deliver Promises Vajpayee Made to You, Says PM Narendra Modi in Srinagar: Highlights

Srinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is addressing a rally in Sringar. Following are the highlights of his speech:

• First time since 1983 that anyone has dared to hold a rally at this stadium
• I will return the love you have given to me with interest, I will return it with development
• There has not been a single month that I haven't come to J&K since I became PM
  
• I have come here to share your sorrows, not to take anything from you
  
• You have given me a lot of love, what can be greater than that
• I have to fulfill Atalji's dream... he spoke of insaniyat, kashmiriyat and Jamhooriyat
• Tourism is a sector which offers employment and a daily wage to every sector of the society
• Pahad ka paani aur paha ki jawani, dono pahad ke kaam nahi aati - I want to change this idiom
• There should be no discrimination. My mantra is sabka saath, sabka vikaas
• There should be no area, section of society, family - there should be no discrimination between them 
• I'm sorry to use harsh words, but when  the floods struck the government here was sleeping
• I will deploy the whole government at your service. Corruption has finished this state
• People here wanted the relief money to be transferred to their accounts directly and not to the state government
• They did not have faith in the government here but they trusted Modi
• Corruption is our biggest challenge... till that goes, the common man in Kashmir will not be benefitted
• PM Modi targets Omar Abdullah, says when floods struck, state government was sleeping
• The people in Kutch told me leaders keep talking about border issues with Pakistan, not of development
• I shifted the focus in Kutch to development. Today, it is the fastest growing district in India
• If Kutch can develop, so can Kashmir 
• Since independence 33,000 policemen (not armed forces) have died in protecting civilians in this state
• But for the first time in 30 years, the Army admitted its mistake. This was under BJP rule
  
• There was an inquiry and cases filed against those guilty of shooting at the 2 youth
