Jagdalpur: Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi addresses rally in Chhattisgarh.

Below are the highlights from his speech at Jagdalpur:

If you hadn't given 10 years to the BJP government, the state would have been destroyed.

If the Congress had come to power here, not a single kilo of coal would have been left in the state.

I congratulate you for not letting Chhattisgarh falling to the Congress. Imagine what would have happened if there was Congress-rule in Chhattisgarh.

Have you ever though why Uttarakhand and Jharkhand have regressed and Chhattisgarh has progressed? It is your wisdom.

There has been political instability in Uttarakhand - and progress has stopped. See the tragedy that occurred there and a government that is indifferent.

In Delhi, Congress govts have tried to control Jharkhand and that has led to political instability.

Chhattisgarh has been saved because you trusted Raman Singh and the BJP.

People may have voted for caste, creed, familial ties - but now  the times have changed and  you must vote for development and development only.

You must look to the future of your children and vote - and that kind of a govt can be provided by the BJP under Dr Raman Singh.

Chhatisgarh is like a growing child which needs to be nurtured - the next 5 years are crucial.

These elections are not just for 5 years - but your future for 100 years.

Vote should be for development and vote-bank politics should be buried.

Have you ever seen such a huge rally in Jagdalpur? These are winds of change. India wants development.

Yeh pehle aap ko haath dikhate rahein, saat aayee to haat azmane laage aur phir haat safaaii se baaz nahin aa rahein hain.

Now onions have to be kept in lockers.

The government which can without onions reduce people to tears is not pro-poor. This 'hand' has snatched away onions from the poor, they need to be dislodged.

The shehzaade in Delhi is hoodwinking the people by saying they have brought the food security law - food security was first implemented by the BJP government in Chhattisgarh.

A government should be pro-development but have a sympathetic approach to the people.

There was a conspiracy to blow me up, kill BJP leaders in Patna... and Congress leaders were killed here. Compare what Dr Raman Singh did and what the Bihar CM did.

Dr Raman Singh met the victims, instituted an investigation to look into the shortcomings of the government.

In Patna, the government was sitting in Rajgir and elaborate meals were being served. Their body language was as if it was a happy incident.

See how an empathetic CM behaves and how an arrogant CM behaves.  I congratulate Dr Raman Singh.

Below are the highlights from his speech at Kanker:

In these polls you will decide Chhattisgarh's future, the future of your children.

What has the Congress given you in the past 60 years? India has been independent for over 60 years - and the Congress has been ruling for most of that period.

The adivasis, dalits, OBCs have historically voted for Congress. They got power, formed governments but what did you get?

I congratulate you for recognising the Congress for what it is.  This was a new state. Imagine what the plight of Chhattisgarh would have been.

Whether I'm in Gujarat or Delhi, I recognise your pain.

Chhattisgarh's survival was in danger after the state was formed because the Congress was in power.

The people here recognised the situation - and voted the BJP to power. I congratulate Dr Raman Singh for the development of Chhattisgarh in the last 10 years but I also give credit to the people of Chhattisgarh for voting for us.

Of all the state governments in India, Dr Raman Singh has to work in the most difficult circumstances. But he has received the most awards for outstanding work from the PM because he has worked for the development of the state.

Everyone here proudly uses the moniker 'chawal wale baba' (the man who distributes rice).

Coal scam, 2G scam, all scams were never talked about. Yes they were all done.

Madam (Sonia Gandhi) is right that Congress doesn't speak about its scams. Congress promised that it will reduce inflation in 100 days, but didn't fulfil its promise.

Madam is in Chhattisgarh today. What she says is correct? Without speaking they do such a lot... scams under the ground, scams in the air - all scams happen so quietly. And what they say they don't do.

The country knows what you've done without uttering a word. You need to answer the people for why you've not done what you've promised.

Congress has such a leader who says poverty is a state of mind. Can hunger be a state of mind?

Raman Singh has worked for women rights. His government has worked for the poor. The government in Delhi is not bothered about the poor. I am amazed at their utterances, how can such people be leaders in India.

If there are five people in your family, can you feed yourselves in Rs. 26 a day? The people in Delhi say that... the shehzada who pays Rs.100 for a bottle of water in a 5-star hotels says that.

You can't get a cup of tea in Rs 5, but Congress leaders say you can get a meal.

Do not let the Congress's 'Hand' enter Chhattisgarh - they are busy doing haat ki safaai.
