Banswara (Rajasthan):
Returning Sonia Gandhi's barb, Narendra Modi today said no party can be "more poisonous" than the Congress, saying the party has thrived on what the UPA president once called the "poison of power."
Addressing a rally in election-bound Rajasthan's Banswara district, the BJP's prime ministerial candidate said Rahul Gandhi had once recalled that his mother Sonia had compared power to poison.
"Madam's Shehzada once said in Jaipur that his mother told him that power is poison. They ruled the country for almost 50 years since independence. Then who has tasted poison for longer period? It's the Congress." Mr Modi said.

"BJP is spreading rumours that the drugs of Rajasthan flagship 'Free Medicine Scheme' are poison, but the fact is that the party that is spreading such rumours is the party of poisonous people," Mrs Gandhi said in Kota.
Today, Mr Modi continued with his attacks on her son Rahul Gandhi, saying the Congress vice-president speaks about poverty only when there is media around. He asked why Mr Gandhi hasn't done anything for people living in the slum adjacent to his house.
"In Delhi, yesterday, people told me that Rahul's bungalow is in the constituency of the Delhi Chief Minister. Adjacent to the bungalow, there is a slum of 800 people with just two public toilets. 800 people and two toilets? But all these things are not visible to Congress; they only see poverty where media is present," the Gujarat Chief Minister said.
Rajasthan, currently governed by the Congress, votes on December 1 to elect a new state Assembly while the general elections are due by May next year.
