New Delhi:
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has no objection to a Congress Chief Minister in Maharashtra after the state assembly polls, party chief Sharad Pawar has said speaking exclusively to NDTV.
"We have no objection to a Congress Chief Minister. The Chief Minister will be from Congress," said Pawar.
Pawar. However, ruled out any question of merging NCP with the Congress party.
"We don't have a high command culture. We are a decentralised party, and the rank and file is against it," he said.
The veteran leader from Maharashtra further said that his party would not get into any alliance with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, as "MNS does not share the same ideology".
Declaring that 2009 was his last Lok Sabha election, Pawar said, "It is time for young leaders to step forward."
