Notification for the January 28 Manipur assembly elections was today issued by the state election office, official sources said.
As per the notification, candidates would be allowed to file their nomination papers between 11 am and 3 pm from today till January 11 next.
Although January 6 and 9 are holidays because of 'Emoinu festival' (a local festival) and death anniversary of former Manipur king Gambhir Singh, candidates would be allowed to file their nominations.
The scrutiny of papers would be taken up on January 12 next, the sources said.
Withdrawal of nomination papers was fixed on January 14.
