Pawar to NDTV: Rural Maharashtra chose us

Mumbai: Speaking exclusively to NDTV, Sharad Pawar described the strong performance by the Congress-NCP alliance in Maharashtra as "impressive." Pawar says the coalition's policies at the centre and the state have succeeded. "We had to compromise, now we've proved our mettle, " said Pawar, explaining that his Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has proved to the Congress that it's a force to reckon with. The NCP had to settle for fewer seats than it wanted in the alliance.
