Jodhpur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today filed his nomination papers for the December 1 polls in Rajasthan from the Sardarpura Assembly seat in Jodhpur.
Mr Gehlot went to the district returning officer accompanied by his wife Sunita Gehlot and Jodhpur Mayor Rameshwar Dadheech and Chairman of Jodhpur Development Authority Rajendra Solanki, party sources said.
Later, the Chief Minister went to his constituency where he inaugurated his election office and addressed supporters asking them to ensure the party's victory.
In the last elections in 2008, Mr Gehlot defeated his nearest rival Rajendra Gehlot of BJP by a margin of 15,340 votes from the Sardarpura seat.
