Bolpur, West Bengal:
Former Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, who was expelled from the CPI-M in 2008, was the first signatory on a leaflet appealing people to form the eight consecutive Left Front government in the state.
He was followed by his wife Renu Chatterjee.
The leaflet, which was distributed in his hometown Bolpur on Tuesday, highlighted the success of the Left Front government and criticised the "whimsical activities" of Mamata Banerjee as Railway Minister.
The role of a section of media was also criticised for their "anti-Left stand".
Some of the other renowned signatories were scholar Somendranath Banerjee and singer Gora Sarbadhikari.
