New Delhi:
Hours after BJP released its manifesto, the Congress released its vision document for Uttar Pradesh today.
The Congress has said that it wants 20 lakh jobs for the youth, a new land acquisition law and population-based minority quota. The BJP promises a cow for every poor family in UP, cheap laptops and tablets, a "spiritual Disneyland in Mathura-Vrindavan", and a very strong Lokayukta.
Here are the top 10 electoral promises for Uttar Pradesh, and what the two main national parties have on offer for the people of the state.
1) Women:
BJP: Addressing the women in the state, the BJP's manifesto promises 33 per cent reservation in the Lok Sabha, Vidhan Sabha and government jobs. BJP's manifesto also mentions special courts to tackle cases of crime against women in the state.
Congress: The party has taken up the issue of women's safety in the state and promises general improvement in law and order, which includes at least one police station in every district.
2) Weavers:

3) Employment:
BJP: The party's manifesto promises the creation of one crore jobs in the next five years. Also on the agenda is more industrialisation to trigger reverse migration of people who leave UP every year for cities like Delhi and Mumbai in search of jobs.
