Aurangabad: The Aam Aadmi Party office in Aurangabad in Maharashtra was vandalised today by unknown attackers who smashed a TV, an AC and some windows.
According to the Press Trust of India, AAP City President Harpreet Singh and rural region chief Jayaji Suryavanshi said a group of men forcefully entered the party office and asked them to stop their ongoing membership drive.
The incident less than a week after an attack on the party's headquarters in Ghaziabad near Delhi, less than a km from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's home. A group of 40-50 people, carrying flags of 'Hindu Raksha Dal', entered the AAP office, threw stones and broke windows with lathis. They also allegedly targeted workers and misbehaved with women.
One of the attackers had said they were protesting AAP leader Prashant Bhushan's remarks suggesting a referendum in Kashmir on whether the people want the army for internal security. Mr Bhushan had earlier withdrawn those remarks after much criticism.
