Aurangabad : A nine-year-old girl was allegedly beaten up by a hostel superintendent on June 26 in Maharashtra's Nanded district because she asked for food, it emerged today.
The hostel superintendent, Srinivas Rathod allegedly did not give food to three girls from the hostel. When one of them asked him for food, he allegedly beat her up with a pipe and locked her up in the toilet.
The girl, who later escaped, went to the police station to report the incident.
A case has been registered against Rathod, who is absconding.
