Aurangabad : A schoolteacher allegedly raped a nine-year-old girl in a village near Aurangabad in Central Maharashtra, police said on Thursday.
The accused, Pramod Gaikwad, has been arrested.
The incident took place on March 25 in Paithan tehsil after Gaikwad forced the student to stay back post school hours.
Local villagers gathered at the campus when they heard the girl screaming for help. They bashed up the accused and handed him over to the police.
