Lexus ES teaser
Lexus, the luxury car manufacturer, is setting up the stage for the global debut of the ES, a luxury sedan, on April 23 at the Auto Shanghai Motor Show. Before pulling off the covers, the brand has shared a series of teasers revealing glimpses of the vehicle. It is to be noted that this will be the eighth-generation version of the car and is being referred to as the new global flagship model by the brand. The outgoing seventh-generation model made its debut back in 2018.
Based on a silhouette released by the brand in teasers, the car seems to have undergone major design changes. It now gets a fresh design for the headlights while sticking to the brand's design language. This is paired with boomerang-shaped DRLs. At the rear end, the car now gets connected LED tail lights with a light bar running across the rear end. It will also get a new set of alloy wheels. All of this is complemented by a similar silhouette with a slightly revised roofline.

The 2025 Lexus ES will likely be offered with multiple powertrain options, giving consumers a wider variety compared to the version presently on sale in India. The options will likely include an all-electric powertrain, as one of the teasers revealed a charging port on the front fender of the vehicle. Furthermore, it is also likely to have a strong hybrid powertrain.
There is no announcement regarding the upcoming Lexus ES's debut in the Indian market. Presently, the car competes against rivals like the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
