BMW India has launched the X1 Long Wheel Base Electric eDrive20 L M Sport in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 49 Lakh (ex-showroom). It will be a locally made product of the brand in the Indian market and will be manufactured at the BMW Plant in Chennai. The brand has also started taking bookings for the electric SUV starting today. The consumers wishing to book the SUV can do it via the BMW dealerships in the country.
The new SUV in the Indian market follows the brand's design language with significant kidney grilles at the front end complemented by slant LED headlamps. It gets a unique appearance because of the muscular design of the bonnet. Standing at 4,616 mm in length and with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm it is one of the largest five-seater SUVs in the Indian market. All of this is complemented by a unique design for 18-inch M light alloy wheels.

The design of the vehicle is complemented by unique colour options like Mineral White, Carbon Black, Portimao Blue, Sparkling Copper Grey, and Skyscraper Grey, paired with Mocha Veganza perforated vegan upholstery.
The BMW X1 LWB comes equipped with a curved windscreen display aided by the brand's iDrive system and Operating System 9. It also gets a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with 205 w output. The list of features also includes electrically adjustable seats, reclining seats, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, floating armrest and more. The list of safety features includes lane departure warning, blind spot assistant, automatic emergency braking, rear view camera, eight airbags, and more.
The BMW X1 LWB comes with a front axle mounted electric motor producing 204 bhp of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. It is powered by a 66.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack offering MIDC range of 531km.
