BMW R 1300 R teaser
BMW Motorrad is on a product offensive; recently, the brand unveiled the R 12 G/S and is now preparing to introduce another new product to the market. Specifically, the Bavarian giant is preparing the stage for the debut of the R 1300 R on April 10. This is a new road-focused bike based on a Boxer engine. Until now, the manufacturer has refrained from divulging the details of the upcoming bike. All we have is a teaser image, along with a few other details.

Starting with the heart, the BMW R 1300 R will share its powertrain with the R 1300 GS. In other words, it will be powered by a 1,300 cc air and liquid-cooled Boxer engine. This unit on the adventure bike produces 143 hp of power and 149 Nm of peak torque. However, the tuning for the new bike will be different, and the output remains to be seen. Along with this, we can expect the bike to have BMW's Automated Shift Assistant as an option.

The bike is likely to get a new chassis because of the new design and to accommodate the new engine. Additionally, the mechanical parts of the bike will likely be different compared to its sibling with the same engine. All of this will be aimed at improving the handling of the bike. We can also expect the bike to have different variants with varying lists of features.

Diving into the details of the design, the teaser image reveals that the bike will sport a new headlight design. This uniqueness of the unit is further highlighted by the presence of two slanted LED positions. All of this will contribute to giving the bike a different appeal compared to the recently updated S 1000 R and the M 1000 R. The bike is also expected to have riding dynamics aimed at making it agile because of the use of phrases like "Born for Bends" and "Boxer Punch on Every Curve" by the brand.

The bike will first be introduced in the US and the European market. Following this, we can expect it to make its India debut. However, a date has not been specified by the brand yet. Meanwhile, the global market is also likely to see two new products soon based on the same engine.
