Skoda India launched the third-generation of the Superb in the country in April 2023. However, the brand imported only 100 units of the sedan. On sale as a full import unit, the sedan has a price tag of Rs 54 lakh (ex-showroom), which seems to have become a hurdle in the sales of the premium sedan. Presently, the brand has some unsold units in its possession. To clear this stock, they are offering discounts of up to Rs 18 lakh on the car.
The discounts for the unsold units left with the dealerships are being sold with a discount ranging between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 18 Lakh. Reports suggest that around 20 units of the car are still unsold. With these discounts in place, the Superb is very close to the locally assembled unit of the model which was on sale in the country earlier. The model was discontinued because of the BS6 Stage 2 emission norms.

When compared to the locally assembled unit which retailed at around Rs 38 lakh, the outgoing Skoda Superb offers more features. This can be seen in the form of the active TPMS, nine airbags for enhanced safety, dynamic chassis control, and a 9-inch infotainment system.
Now coming to the free Skoda Slavia. Technically, the relatively affordable sedan will not be free. But if the consumers want they can buy a Skoda Slavia for the initial price of the Superb. Presently, the Slavia is sold at a starting price of Rs 10.69 lakh (ex-showroom) which even with taxes will be less than the discount offered on the Superb.
The Skoda Superb is sold with a BS6 Phase II-compliant 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. This unit is tuned to produce 190 hp of power and 320 Nm of peak torque, this is the same state of tune as before. It works in conjunction with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
