Citroen Basalt, C3, and Aircross Dark Editions To Launch On April 15
Citroen will be the latest to launch Dark Edition versions of its cars
Citroen India is preparing to expand its lineup with the addition of Dark Edition versions of its models in the market. Specifically, the brand is all set to launch the blacked-out iterations of the C3, Aircross, and Basalt SUV coupe. Based on the latest announcement by the brand, these vehicles will break cover on April 15. All of these vehicles will come with aesthetic changes over the standard version sold in the country. These changes will be seen on the outside and inside of the vehicle.

Beginning with the outside design, we can expect that all models will feature a black paint finish. To enhance this rather mysterious look, the car will likely incorporate dark accents throughout its body, replacing the glossy chrome elements. Particularly, we can expect the blacked-out components to include the badges, grille, and alloy wheels. Additionally, the brand may provide a smoked finish for the headlights.

According to a teaser revealed earlier, the interiors of the vehicles will showcase black leatherette with contrast stitching in place of the plastic dashboard. The manufacturer will also likely introduce dark accents around the air conditioning vents and other specific areas to match the overall theme. Despite these modifications, the feature list is expected to remain unchanged. Since this special edition will likely be derived from the highest variant, we can expect it to include a similar array of features.

In terms of mechanics, the Dark Edition models of the Aircross, Basalt, and C3 are expected to remain unaffected. Each of these models will likely be powered by either an 82 hp, 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine or a 110-hp, 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine, with only the turbo option providing an automatic transmission. The Dark Edition variants will most likely be offered solely in the top Turbo variant.
