Citroen India is set to join the trend of launching Dark Edition versions of its vehicles. The French automaker is set to launch the blacked-out version of Basalt, C3, and Aircross tomorrow (April 10). Before the official event, the brand released teasers revealing a few details of the upcoming special edition of the vehicles. We can expect these vehicles to receive aesthetic changes to make them worthy of the special edition badge. Here is all you can expect from the vehicles.

Design

Starting with the exterior design, we can anticipate that all models will feature a black paint finish. To amplify this rather mysterious appearance, the vehicle will likely integrate dark accents throughout its exterior, replacing the shiny chrome details. Specifically, we can expect the blacked-out elements to include the grille and alloy wheels. Furthermore, the manufacturer might offer a smoked appearance for the headlights. The latest teasers also confirm that the vehicle will have a special Dark Edition badge.

Interior

The interiors of the cars will have black leatherette upholstery with red stitching instead. The company will likely introduce dark accents around the air conditioning vents and other key areas to align with the overall theme. Despite these alterations, the list of features is expected to remain the same. Since this special edition will most likely stem from the top variant, we can expect it to include a comparable range of features. All of this will be likely topped by ambient lighting, a start/stop button, and keyless entry.

Powertrain

Regarding the mechanics, the Dark Edition models of the Aircross, Basalt, and C3 are expected to be unaffected. Each of these models will likely be powered by either an 82 hp, 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine or a 110 hp, 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine, with only the turbo option offering an automatic transmission. The Dark Edition variants are anticipated to be available only in the top Turbo version.

Pricing

The Citroen Basalt, C3, and Aircross Dark Editions will be based on the top-end variants of the models. This, combined with the changes in aesthetics, means we can expect the price to be slightly increased.
