Citroen India has entered the new year with changes in the prices of its coupe SUV, Basalt. Along with the French automaker, multiple manufacturers selling vehicles in India have revised the prices of the models on sale. This is part of a yearly practice to cope with inflation. By the end of 2024, automakers like Mahindra, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and other automakers had all announced there would be changes in the prices of their model lineup.
Getting into the details of the Citroen Basalt's price, the brand has hiked the prices by up to Rs 28,000, depending on the variant. Specifically, the aforementioned maximum hike is applicable for 1.2-litre turbo-petrol MT Plus and 1.2-liter turbo-petrol AT Plus variants. Meanwhile, the entry-level 1.2-litre petrol MT You variant gets a hike of Rs 26,000.
At the same time, the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol MT Max and 1.2-litre turbo-petrol MT Max dual-tone variants of the vehicle have their prices increased by up to Rs. 21,000 each. The 1.2 turbo-petrol AT Max and 1.2 turbo-petrol AT Max dual-tone variants of the coupe SUV have now become costlier by Rs 17,000 each.
The prices of some variants of the Citroen Basalt remain unchanged. Specifically, the 1.2-litre petrol MT Plus has the same price as before at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). With all of these changes in place, Basalt's range begins at Rs 8.25 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Citroen Basalt was launched in August 2024 in the Indian market. It is sold alongside Aircross, C3, and C5 Aircross. Along with all of this, the brand also has the C3 electric hatchback in its lineup. The Basalt is a rare commodity in the Indian market as it is only second to the Tata Curvv with a coupe SUV body style.
