Maruti Suzuki has announced its sales figures for the last fiscal year, 2024-2025, reporting a record total of 22,34,266 units dispatched. A significant contributor to this growth was the sale of CNG vehicles, exceeding 6.2 lakh units, which translates to a 20 percent increase compared to the same period in the previous year. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., responding to a question from NDTV Auto, highlighted that CNG sales have been strong for the brand, noting, "Every third vehicle sold by Maruti Suzuki is a CNG vehicle."
In response to another question from NDTV Auto, Maruti Suzuki official indicated that the company plans to evaluate consumer demand for CNG-powered vehicles with automatic transmission. Currently, Maruti Suzuki offers a diverse range of CNG vehicles, including popular models like the Swift, Dzire, WagonR, Alto, Brezza, Grand Vitara, and more. According to the latest data revealed by Partho Banerjee, the Maruti Suzuki WagonR has also become the best-selling model of the last fiscal year, with a total dispatch of 1,98,451 units. Meanwhile, the Dzire continues to see high demand in the market.

The official also revealed that the brand has been the biggest exporter from the country for four consecutive years now. In the fiscal year 2024-2025, the brand recorded a dispatch of 3,32,585 units, which translates to a growth of approximately 17.5 per cent when compared to 283,067 units exported during the same period in the previous year. Contributing to these numbers is an export of 32,968 units in March 2025. This is a significant growth of 27. 3 per cent when compared to 25,892 units sold in March 2024.
Strengthening the brand's position in the international market are models like Fronx, Jimny, Baleno, Swift, and Dzire, with top export markets being Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Japan, Mexico, and Chile. It is worth mentioning that the brand began exporting Fronx and Jimny five-door (as Jimny Nomade) to the last fiscal year with both the models receiving good response. Additionally, the brand plans on launching the e-Vitara, its first born electric vehicle, soon which will be manufactured and exported from India.
