Exclusive: 2025 Kia Carens Launching On May 8; Will Get ADAS, Design Changes

Kia launched the Carens in the Indian market in 2022, marking its presence in the affordable MPV segment.  Since its launch, the model has been bringing in good sales numbers for the brand. However, it's about time for the South Korean manufacturer to launch an updated version of the vehicle, and it seems like they feel the same. Recently, the test mule of the 2025 Carens has been spotted on multiple occasions. Following up on the update, NDTV Auto has confirmed that the car will be launched in the Indian market in May 2025.

2025 Kia Carens: Design

The 2025 Kia Carens will bring a host of changes covering multiple aspects of the SUV, from design to features. From what we know, the MPV will come with a refreshed design. This will be seen in the form of the changes in the front fascia, which is likely to adopt the new design language of the brand. It will likely have vertically-oriented headlamps with a new design for the bumper, grilles, and more. While the silhouette is expected to be the same, it will have a new design for the alloy wheels, as well as the rear end.

2025 Kia Carens: ADAS, Larger Touchscreen

Accompanying the exterior design changes will likely be revisions in the cabin. The vehicle is likely to have a different layout compared to the outgoing version. It might get a bigger infotainment screen and a different instrument cluster. These might be the units borrowed from either the Syros or the Seltos. Furthermore, we can expect the car to have an extended list of features with additions like ventilated seats for the second row, a panoramic sunroof, and more.

Along with the standard safety features, the 2025 Kia Carens will bring a suite of Level 2 ADAS features. This list includes forward collision warning, lane keep assist, blind spot collision warning, and more. Until now, the brand has had these features on offer in the Sonet, Seltos, and Syros.

2025 Kia Carens: Powertrain, Drivetrain

The 2025 Kia Carens will carry forward the powertrain options available on the outgoing version. In other words, it will have: 1.5-litre TGDi petrol, 1.5-litre DPFi petrol, and the 1.5-litre diesel engine options. The transmission options include 6-speed iMT, 7-speed DCT, 6-speed MT, and 6-speed AT.

With all of the aforementioned details, we can expect the MPV to have an increased price. Presently, it has a starting price of Rs 10.60 lakh (ex-showroom) and competes against rivals like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Rumion, and others in the segment.
