Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is the first electric SUV of the brand in India

Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 is days away and the manufacturers in India are all geared up for the show. Scheduled to begin on January 17, the event will feature multiple new products from OEMs giving a hint at the future of the Indian market. Among these brands is Maruti Suzuki preparing to showcase the first of its electric vehicles to come. This will be in the form of the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara which is the production version derivative of the eVX showcased by the brand for the first time at the Auto Expo 2023. Meanwhile, Tata Motors will use the stage to showcase the Tata Sierra and Harrier EV. Here are all the details of the vehicles.

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara

Before its debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, the Indian manufacturer has teased the electric SUV on multiple occasions. The sneak peeks have given the audience a glimpse of the exterior as well as the interior design of the electric SUV. All in all, we know that the e-Vitara will feature a design adhering to the brand's design language with a contemporary appeal. It will have a tri-arrow LED DRL integrated into the main headlight. This will be complemented by the SUV-ish bonnet with a charger in the front fender.

The same style of the front end will be carried forward to the rest of the body. This will be seen in the form of the two-piece LED tail lights, integrated spoiler, and a shark fin antenna. The brand has also placed an e-Vitara badge on the tailgate along with a rear wiper and a washer. To complement the overall design it will have new dual-tone alloy wheels.

Underpinned by Maruti Suzuki the brand's new platform for EVs, the e-Vitara is expected to have two battery pack options. It will have a 49 kWh battery pack with the option of a bigger 61 kWh battery pack. The power from these units will be used by an AWD setup. Once launched, the e-SUV will compete against the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE6, Tata Curvv Electric, and others.

Tata Sierra ICE and EV

Tata Sierra is not the first-time entrant at the Bharat Mobility Expo, it was showcased by the brand at the previous iterations of the Expo. Featuring a design very similar to its ancestors, the SUV gets a prominent rear window creating an illusion of a missing C-pillar. In its EV version, the vehicle is expected to get a 60-80 kWh battery pack which is expected to offer a range of over 500 km on a single charge.

This will be the first time the brand is showcasing the ICE version of the vehicle. Chances are, the SUV will have a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. If reports are to be trusted, the engine will be tuned to produce 167 hp of power and 280 Nm of peak torque. It is also expected to have a 2.0-litre diesel engine. This will be similar to the version used on the Harrier.

Tata Harrier EV

Tata Harrier EV was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 and later at the Mobility Expo 2024, After that the electric SUV was spotted multiple times on various occasions. These spottings suggest that the EV will have a design very similar to the ICE version of the vehicle. Furthermore, the vehicle is expected to offer a range of over 500 km on a single charge with an AWD setup.
