Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has announced a voluntary recall for the CB300R motorcycles sold in the country. The motorcycle has been recalled to address a potential issue with the internal PCB structure that links to the bike's headlight. The owners can face a problem during normal use over a long time; vibrations and other movements can potentially cause fatigue brakes in the core wires at the root terminals. The light can potentially flicker or completely shut off, if the problem persists.

Although the defect with the PCB structure might not pose an issue during the day, it can lead to safety hazards when riding at night. In addition, a faulty headlight can present a significant problem when traveling on highways after dark.

The brand said in a statement, "As a precautionary measure, the replacement of the affected part will be carried out at BigWing dealerships across India. The replacement will be done free of cost, irrespective of the vehicle's warranty status."

"This voluntary move is intrinsic to Honda's pro-activeness, reinforcing its commitment to strengthen customer trust & confidence, further enhancing ownership experience," he added.

Honda BigWing dealers will reach out to the owners of the affected motorcycles via phone, email, or SMS. Technicians will perform an inspection and implement the necessary repairs and replacements. Customers can also verify if their CB300R motorcycle is included in the recall by visiting the Honda BigWing website and entering their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). For a smoother experience, customers should schedule their service appointments ahead of time.

The Honda CB300R comes with a neo-retro style complemented by a sporty design. The bike is powered by a 286.01 cc, liquid-cooled engine that kicks out 30 hp of power and 27.5 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike is available at a starting price of Rs 2.40 lakh.
