Hyundai India is preparing the stage for the launch of its brand new electric SUV in the Indian market. Using the name of its popular model, the brand is calling it the Hyundai Creta Electric. Ahead of the launch, the brand has released the first official teaser for the electric vehicle showing a wall mounted EV charger. Once launched, the Creta Electric will be the brand's most affordable EV on sale in the country, alongside the relatively more expensive Ioniq 5.

In the first official teaser, the brand refrained from showing any details of the EV's design. Instead, the South Korean automaker's teaser for Creta Electric had a picture of a wall mounted charger with the caption saying, "A bold new chapter in electric begins soon. Hyundai Creta Electric is set to change the way you drive, forever. The countdown to innovation has begun! Coming Soon."

Based on the previously leaked spy shots, the Hyundai Creta Electric will carry forward the design elements of its ICE version. However, there will be certain elements screaming of its electric powertrain. This will be seen in the form of the closed off front grille, charging port placed on the front end, a new design for the bumper and the connected LED tail lamps. The brand is also likely to alter the lighting setup. Along with all of this, it is expected to have a new design for the alloy wheels with better aerodynamic wheels.

On the inside, the Hyundai Creta EV is likely to borrow some of the elements of the Ioniq 5, which is placed much higher in the hierarchy. Based on the assumption, it might get features like a fully-digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system, voice-activated panoramic sunroof, Bose sound system, ventilated and powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, and more.

Similarly, the brand is expected to load the SUV with tons of safety features like 360-degree-camera, multiple airbags, and a suite of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This pack might include automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection, and more.

In terms of powertrain, the Hyundai Creta Electric is expected to get a 45 kWh battery pack. This power from this battery will be used by an electric motor generating 138 hp and 255 Nm of peak torque. With all of this, the EV is expected to offer a range of 450 km on a single charge.
