Hyundai Creta EV will have design similarities with the ICE counterpart

The electric SUV market in India is heating up with the introduction of multiple new models. Now the South Korean giant, Hyundai is ready to enter the race to claim a piece of the pie with the launch of the Creta EV. As per the latest update, the electric version of the popular SUV in the Indian market is to be launched on January 17 using the opportunity at the Bharat Mobilti Expo 2025 to present it in front of the general public.

With the launch of the Creta EV, the brand might be hoping to cash on the name created by the EV's ICE cousin. This seems to be a necessity considering the competition in the Indian electric SUV scene. Specifically, the Creta EV will be competing against models like the Tata Cruvv EV, the MG ZS EV, the fresh piece in Mahindra's stable called the BE 6e, and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara.

Along with the name, the Hyundai Creta EV is expected to borrow the appearance of the ICE counterpart. This can be seen in the form of similar DRLs and headlights on the front fascia, and more. However, it will have the EV persona in the form of a closed nose instead of the grille present on the ICE. The brand might also change the design of the alloy wheels to make them more aerodynamic.

Similarly, the interiors of the car might come with updates. These might be seen in the form of a new steering wheel, changes in the dashboard layout, revisions in the center console, and more. It is also expected to get tons of features like ventilated seats, 360-degree cameras, electronic parking brakes, and more. It is also expected to borrow the infotainment system from its ICE counterpart.

The powertrain details of the Hyundai Creta EV are not known yet. However, the brand is expected to equip it with something that can be juiced up enough to compete against the MG ZS EV which has a 50.3 kWh battery pack while Tata Curvv gets a 45 kWh battery pack with the option of a 55 kWh battery pack.
