Hyundai Motor India has seen a decline in the sales figure for the past few months. As per the data of January 2025, Hyundai has registered a decline of 5 percent, year-on-year. With this, January is the third consecutive month where Hyundai has shown a negative figure in sales. Hyundai sold a total of 57,115 units in January 2024, which has now come down to 54,003 units in January 2025. However, Hyundai Creta has topped the best-selling SUV chart in the segment.
With the new budget announcement, Hyundai is likely to boost sales with a well-planned strategy. If we look at the sales figures of the past six months, then it is evident that Hyundai accounted for a 1 percent boost in October, but has been declining from the following month. However, even after the decline, January remains the second best-selling month for Hyundai in terms of overall sales. It sold 55,568 units in October 2024 and sold 54,003 units in January 2025.
Hyundai Creta has been a sales leader for the brand, as it is now the best-selling SUV in the segment. Also, with the launch of its electric version, the sales have experienced a boost. January 2025 is the best-selling month for Hyundai Creta, surpassing the sales record of October 2024. Hyundai sold 17,497 units of Creta in October 2024 which increased to a sales of 18,522 units in January 2025.
Hyundai is currently selling 10 models in the Indian market- Hyundai Aura, Verna, Grand i10 Nios, i20, Ioniq 5, Hyundai Tucson, Exter, Alcazar, Venue, Creta and the recently launched Hyundai Creta Electric. With the pressure of boosting sales growth, Hyundai is likely to rely on the Creta and the Creta Electric for the measure.
