Isuzu Motors India has announced the achievement of a significant milestone of producing 1,00,000 vehicles from its facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The milestone has been achieved by rolling out a D-Max V-Cross pickup truck. This is one of the models of the brand sold in the Indian market and competes against the likes of the Toyota Hilux for consumers' attention.
The Indian manufacturing arm of the brand started operations at the Sri City facility back in April 2016. Later, the brand started the Phase 2 of its operations in 2020 with the introduction of new facilities with the inclusion of a press ship and engine assembly plant. This helped the manufacturer produce over 14 lakh pressed parts. Furthermore, the brand has doubled its engine production capacity in the last two years with this factory and under "Make In India" strategy.

"Over the years, the company has achieved significant milestones in both production and exports. A key highlight is that 22 percent of our production line workforce comprises talented women, showcasing our commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion. Additionally, 100 percent of our production workforce are diploma engineers," Rajesh Mittal, president and managing director of Isuzu Motors India, said on the achievement.
Commenting on the occasion, Toru Kishimoto, deputy managing director of Isuzu Motors India, said, "India is a market of immense potential and strategic importance to Isuzu, and we remain committed to delivering value-driven and innovative mobility solutions."
