Kia has announced the launch of its AI-powered voice recognition system in Europe. This comes after the system was introduced in the home country, Korea, and the US last year. This system is aimed at enhancing the user experience by supporting natural conversations with the vehicle and providing the user with easy access to features and information. The rollout of this feature in Europe will begin with the EV3 models built from March 2025 onward. The models already out will receive it via OTA updates.

This OTA technology also enables the upgrading of Kia's voice recognition system to the latest AI Assistant for EV3s through the connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) system. This guarantees that users have access to the most current features and enhancements.
Engaging with Kia's AI Assistant is simple for users through easy commands. The system can be activated by either pressing the voice recognition button located on the car's steering wheel or by vocalizing: "Hey Kia."
The AI Assistant can even recommend songs that match a relaxed urban atmosphere, thus enriching the overall driving experience. The more specific parameters the user defines, the better Kia's AI Assistant can tailor its responses to fit the circumstances. The introduction of the AI Assistant will eventually extend to other models equipped with Kia's ccNC system.
