Kia Syros Gets Over 20,000 Bookings, 67 Percent For Petrol Models

The Kia Syros is the latest addition to the lineup of cars in India and comes at a starting price of Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom).

Kia Syros comes with two engine options
Kia India launched the Syros SUV in the Indian market on February 1. Meanwhile, the deliveries of the SUV started in mid-February. However, the brand started taking bookings for the vehicle on January 3 crossing the 20,000 booking milestone. As per the latest announcement, most of the consumers chose to buy the petrol variants of the vehicle, while the top variants accounted for 46 per cent of the total bookings. It is worth mentioning that the prices of the SUV start at Rs 9 lakh and extend up to Rs 17.80 lakh (ex-showroom).

Revealing details of the bookings, Kia India has announced that 67 percent of the consumers have opted for the turbo-petrol variants of the SUV, while the rest chose to buy the diesel variants. Furthermore, 38 per cent of consumers bought either petrol-DCT or the diesel-AT variants of the vehicle. Additionally, the brand claims that 46 percent of buyers chose the HTX and above variants. At the same time 18 percent of the consumers went for the HTX+(O) variants of the ADAS features.

The most popular colours among consumers were Aurora Black Pearl and Frost Blue, accounting for 26 percent and 20 percent of all the bookings, respectively. Meanwhile, 32 percent of the consumers opted for the Glacier White Pearl paint scheme. It is to be noted that the other colour options are Sparkling Silver, Gravity Grey, Imperial Blue, Intense Red, and Pewter Olive.

Kia offers two engine options on the Syros: a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 120hp and 172Nm, or a 1.5-litre diesel engine generating 116hp and 250Nm. Both engines come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission; however, the petrol variant has the option for a 7-speed DCT automatic, while the diesel version can be equipped with a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
