Kia India is preparing the stage for the launch of its latest SUV in the Indian market. Christened Syros, the SUV will be revealed tomorrow (December 19). To be placed between the Sonet and Seltos in the brand's lineup, Syros will come with a completely new design. The brand's confidence in the contemporary nature of the product is projected by the phrase "a new species of SUV". Once launched, it will be the automaker's fifth SUV to be retailed through the dealerships. Before the launch, the brand released slight details of the SUV through teasers, and here's all we know about the vehicle.
Kia Syros: Design
The Kia Syros will be among the first products of the brand in the country to feature the brand's new design language. This can be seen in the form of the completely new front fascia consisting of vertically stacked headlamps and DRLs along with a chunky bumper. All of this is complemented by the presence of a high bonnet giving the SUV a butch look. These elements seem to be very similar to the one used by the brand on EV9.

The side profile of the vehicle reveals a tallboy persona with a black C-pillar creating an illusion of a floating roof. The brand has also added new alloy wheels to the mix. Meanwhile, the rear end follows the pattern of the front end with L-shaped LED tail lights. These lights are placed rather high at the rear end.
Kia Syros: Features
The cabin of the Syros will come brimming with features. Among these, a dual-screen setup will attract the most attention which consists of the digital instrument cluster as well as the touchscreen infotainment system. It will also have a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo. The list of features might also include ventilated seats, a wireless charger, panoramic sunroof, push-button start/stop, ambient lighting, and more. For safety, the brand will likely offer a 360-degree camera, airbags, and a suite of ADAS features.
Kia Syros: Powertrain
Under the hood, the Kia Syros will have a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with the option of a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The brand is also expected to offer the option of a 1.5-litre petrol engine which can be found in other models of the automaker as well. Transmission options might include 6-speed MT, 6-speed torque converter automatic, and 7-speed DCT. There might also be the option of a 6-speed iMT.
