KTM has discontinued two of its entry-level motorcycles in the Indian market, i.e., the RC 125 supersport and the 125 Duke streetfighter. If reports are to be trusted, this decision comes in the view of poor sales registered by both of these models. With this change, the brand now has the 200 Duke in the streetfighter category and the RC 200 in the supersport as its most affordable offering in the country.

This move hints at a major coming change we can expect to see in the brand's portfolio. Specifically, there have been rumours of new 160 cc motorcycles that will mark the entry-point of the Austrian brand's portfolio in India. To further intensify the conversation around the subject, the internet has been flooded with spy shots of a camouflaged bike believed to be the RC 160.

Coming back to the topic at hand, the KTM 125 Duke was launched in the Indian market in 2018. The brand followed it with the launch of the RC125 later. Both of these motorcycles came equipped with a 124.7 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. This was tuned to produce 14.3 hp at 9,250 rpm and 12 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm.

Presently, the brand has been working on updating the model lineup in the country. After the launch of its big bikes in the country, like the 890 Duke R, 1390 Super Duke R, 890 Adventure R, and 1290 Super Adventure, along with enduro and motocross bikes, the manufacturer shifted its focus on updating the line of middle-weight bikes already on sale.

The brand recently launched the 390 Adventure and the 390 Adventure X in the country, followed by the introduction of the updated 390 Duke. The 390 cc naked sport brought changes in its design and feature list in its latest avatar while remaining mechanically the same. It continues to seek power from a 399 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine churning out 44 hp of power and 39 Nm torque.
