
Mahindra currently has 12 SUVs in its portfolio includes- Marazzo, XUV400, Bolero, Scorpio, XUV3XO, XUV700, and more. The carmaker has recently launched its electric SUV lineup, including the BE 6 and the XEV 9e. Mahindra further extended its Thar portfolio with the launch of the Thar Roxx in August 2024. The brand witnessed a 30 percent sales hike in the Thar lineup, recording sales of 84,834 units in FY25 which earlier stood at 65,246 units in FY24.

The Thar Roxx gets two engines as an option- 2.0-liter four cylinder mStallion turbo petrol and a 2.2-liter four-cylinder mHawk diesel engine. The petrol engine is capable of pulling out a peak power and torque output of 160 bhp and 330 Nm. Whereas the diesel engine churns out 150 bhp and 330 Nm, respectively. Both the engine options get a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic torque converter as an option.
The Mahindra Thar is available at a starting price of Rs 11.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and surges up to Rs 17.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Whereas, the Thar Roxx has a starting price tag of Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 23.09 lakh (ex-showroom)
Mahindra and Mahindra is also under plans to expand its portfolio as it is likely to launch the XUV3XO's electric iteration and the XEV 7e, the electric equivalent of the XUV700 by the year end.
