Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will have design similarities with eVX concept

Maruti Suzuki India is all set to unveil its first electric vehicle for the Idina market. Before its debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, the automaker has released a teaser of the EV. Specifically, the covers will be taken off of the EV on January 17 in New Delhi. The brand is expected to launch the vehicle at a later date in 2025. Until now, the brand has showcased the e Vitara in its concept version which was called the eVX.

Once launched in the Indian market, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be the flag bearer of the brand in a flourishing market with an increasing number of competitors. Presently, the EV market will compete for the model in the form of MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv, and Mahindra BE6. Meanwhile, in the near future it will also go against the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV which will be an electric powertrain version of the popular SUV in India.

The teaser image revealed by the brand gives a hint at the design of the production version of e Vitara. This version of the electric car will have similarities with the eVX Concept. However, there will be certain changes in the design to make it more appealing for the eyes. Furthermore it will have a unique design for the headlamps with horizontally placed Y-shaped DRLs on each side of the brand's logo. It will also have a rather muscular bonnet adding to its characters.

The brand is expected to load the electric SUV with tons of features which will also focus on improving safety. This will be an important measure as the competitors in the segment are brimming with features.

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be underpinned by the brand's all new HEARTECT-e platform. This is expected to be offered with two battery pack options. The lower variants are expected to have a 49 kWh battery pack while the higher variants will have a 61 kWh battery pack. The power from the batteries will be transferred to the electric motor and will be utilised by an AWD setup.
