Maruti Suzuki India Limited has released its sales data for March 2025, reflecting growth in sales numbers. Specifically, the brand sold 1,92,984 units in total, translating to a growth of 3.1 per cent compared to 1,87,196 units sold in March 2024. Along with this, the brand has announced a record-growth in annual numbers for the fiscal year 2024-25. This comes with the brand surpassing 2 million units in annual sales for the second consecutive year.

In the financial year 2024-25, Maruti Suzuki achieved its highest total sales ever, reaching 22,34,266 units, which represents a 4.6 per cent increase compared to 21,35,323 units in FY 2023-24. This figure includes record domestic sales totaling 17,95,259 units and unprecedented exports amounting to 3,32,585 units.

A key factor driving MSIL's annual growth has been its performance in exports. The company exported 3,32,585 units in FY 2024-25, marking a significant 17.5 per cent increase from 2,83,067 units in the previous fiscal year.

Diving deeper into sales numbers, there is a noticeable change in consumer preferences. Utility vehicles stood out as the top performers, with 61,097 units sold in March 2025, reflecting a rise of 4.6 per cent from 58,436 units in March 2024. Over the entire fiscal year, sales of UVs jumped by 12.1 per cent to 720,186 units, up from 642,296 units the previous year.

This growth in the SUV segment has allowed Maruti Suzuki to mitigate the downfall in its small cars. The mini segment (comprising the Alto and S-Presso) experienced an annual decline of 11.5 per cent, resulting in sales of 1,25,770 units, while the compact segment (including the Baleno, Swift, WagonR, etc.) dropped by 6.9 per cent to 770,737 units.
