Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe To Launch In India; 7 More Cars On The Way

Mercedes-Benz India is entering the year 2025 with all guns blazing. To begin with, the brand has launched the G 580 and the EQS 450 SUV in the Indian market today. Along with this, the luxury car manufacturer has announced that they will be launching eight new models in the country. This range will include electric vehicles as well as some special edition models. The series of launches will begin with the introduction of the CLE 53 Coupe in Q2 2025.

The move from the German automaker comes on the back of the success recorded in 2024 with the sales of 19,565 units translating to a growth of 12 per cent in sales when compared to a sales of 17,408 units in 2023. The manufacturer credits an increase in BEV portfolio, localisation of products, and better demand of TEVs (top-end vehicle) for this growth. The brand also plans on expanding its footprint in the market with 20 new luxury car outlets spread across the nation.

The brand had launched 14 new models in the country in 2024 including electric vehicles. To name a few, the brand launched the EQA, EQS Maybach, and EQS SUV to add to its range.The addition of the EVs in the portfolio helped the brand register a growth of 94 per cent in terms of sales in 2024 when compared to 2023.

Mercedes-Benz AMG CLE 53 Coupe

The first of these upcoming cars will be the Mercedes-Benz AMG CLE 53 Coupe. This will be the replacement of the E53 coupe in the brand's lineup. The car features aggressive AMG styling with Panamericana radiator grille and LED headlamps with sleek DRLs. The brand has also added a large air intake at the front end which further contributes to its sporty looks.

On the inside, the car will have the signature AMG flat-bottom steering wheel with a 12.3-inch driver's display placed next to the 11.9-inch touchscreen. It will come loaded with features like third-gen MBUX, ambient lighting, Burmester sound system, and more.

Powering the AMG CLE 53 Coupe will be a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six engine supported by a 48V mild-hybrid system. With all of this in place, the car has 449 hp of power and 560 Nm of torque at its disposal. The power is transferred to the wheels using a nine-speed gearbox. The car is capable of going from 0-100 kmph in 4.2 seconds and has a top-speed of 250 kmph.
