MS Dhoni takes delivery of first unit of Citroen Basalt Dark Edition
Citroen India recently launched the Dark Edition versions of the Basalt, Aircross, and C3 in the Indian market. This initiative aims to give the models a fresh appeal and boost sales. To achieve even better results and enhance the model's popularity, the automaker invited brand ambassador Mahendra Singh Dhoni to the event. Additionally, the cricketer took delivery of the first unit of the vehicle.
The humble Citroen Basalt Dark Edition is the latest addition to MS Dhoni's car collection. It comes priced at Rs 12.80 lakh (ex-showroom) and will join models like the Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz G 62 AMG, Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, and others in his garage. It is to be noted that along with this, the cricket-great also has a huge collection of bikes.

MS Dhoni's Citroen Basalt Dark Edition is different from the standard version of the vehicle. Specifically, it gets a Perla Nera Black shade, accented by dark chrome details. These dark chrome details are present on the Chevron emblem, the front grille, as well as on the side body moldings, front and rear bumpers, and door handles. Furthermore, the brand has added a red highlight to the front and side of the car, which is a design element in sync with the international models of the brand.
On the inside, the Basalt Dark Edition model features a Carbon Black interior theme highlighted by contrasting Lava Red accents. Exclusive custom Metropolitan Black leatherette seats, dark chrome trim, a grille embellisher, a leatherette-wrapped instrument panel, and a leatherette dashboard with red stitching can all be observed.
In terms of features, the SUV-coupe gains ambient lighting, footwell lighting, rear-powered windows, and more. Meanwhile, the powertrain remains the same, with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged engine. It comes mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.
