Next-Gen Hyundai Creta Under Development, Launch Likely In 2027: Report

Hyundai Creta is presently sold in its second-gen facelift version
Hyundai Motor India has recently been dominating the SUV segment because of the strong numbers accumulated by the popular Creta. The car has been one of the most prominent models in its segment since its launch in the country. Basking in the success of the climbing sales graph, the brand launched the second-generation facelift version of the SUV in January 2024. Now reports have surfaced on the internet that the South Korean automaker has already started working on the development of the third-generation Hyundai Creta. This latest iteration of the vehicle will likely make its debut in 2027.

Based on the report, the third-gen Hyundai Creta has been codenamed SX3, internally. The SUV will undergo production at the brand's manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu. It is likely to carry forward the same powertrain options offered on the outgoing version i.e., the 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel, and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. However, chances are the brand might expand the range with the option of a hybrid powertrain.

Along with this, the new-generation Hyundai Creta will come with an extended list of features. These features will be aimed at improving comfort while simultaneously focusing on the improvement of occupants' safety.

Going by the timeline suggested in the report, by the time third-generation Hyundai Creta will make its debut the outgoing version will have completed three years in the market. Presently, the car is sold at a starting price of Rs 11.11 lakh (ex-showroom) while the most expensive variant goes up to Rs 20.42 lakh (ex-showroom). It is sold alongside an N-Line version and a recently launched electric powertrain version called the Creta Electric. The SUV faces competition from models like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, and others.
