The financial year 2024-2025 has ended, and multiple carmakers in the country have decided to revise the prices of their models in India. Almost all the major automakers announced a price hike in March 2025, citing rising input costs. Furthermore, the automakers claimed this to be a necessary move to offset inflation. It is worth mentioning that this is the second and, in some cases, third price hike by the manufacturers within a span of a few months. Here, we take a quick look at the changes in prices to be effective starting today (1 April 2025).

Maruti Suzuki was one of the first manufacturers in the country to announce a price hike for April 2025. They announced a hike of up to 4 per cent depending on the model and the variant. Hence, we can expect to see changes in the prices of models like the Baleno, Alto K10, Swift, Dzire, Brezza, Grand Vitara, and others. Similarly, Tata Motors announced a hike of up to 3 per cent, which will bring changes in prices of models like Nexon, Tiago, Curvv, and their electric powertrain versions.

Another major automaker in the string is Mahindra. The brand with multiple popular SUVs in its portfolio, like Thar Roxx, Scorpio N, XUV700, and others, announced a price hike of up to 3 per cent for April 2025.

Kia also announced a price hike for its models like the Sonet, Seltos, Carens, and others. Based on the announcement, the prices of the models will increase by up to 3 per cent depending on the variant and model. This was followed by its sister brand, Hyundai, which again announced a hike of up to 3 per cent. This will bring changes in the prices of some popular models like Creta, Exter, Grand i10 NIOS, and others.

Following the same pattern, automakers like Honda and Renault also announced price hikes for their models. While the Japanese automaker refrained from announcing the quantum of a hike at the time, the French automaker announced an increase of up to 2 per cent.
