The new Skoda Kodiaq will get significant design changes over the previous version
Skoda Auto India is setting the stage for the launch of the second-generation Kodiaq in the Indian market. Before the SUV made its entry into the country, the brand discontinued the outgoing generation of the vehicle and removed it from the official website. With the elimination of the vehicle from the list, the brand has two SUVs in its lineup i.e., Kushaq and the recently launched Kylaq sharing the space with Slavia.
Showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the second-gen Skoda Kodiaq comes with significant design changes compared to the previous iteration. It gets sleek LED headlamps with revisions in the design of the bumper contributing to a completely new look for the front fascia. Along with this, the SUV is equipped with new 20-inch alloy wheels. Similarly, the rear end of the vehicle gets revisions with C-shaped LED tail lights connected by a light bar.

On the inside, the three-row SUV comes with some major changes, these can be seen in the form of a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a toggle-type gear selector, and more. The list of features on the SUV includes a panoramic sunroof with ventilated and heated front seats, ambient lighting, a powered tailgate, and a premium music system.
The new-gen Kodiaq will come loaded with a long list of safety features like ADAS Level 2, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, 360-degree camera with parking assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Besides, the Skoda Kodiaq will be equipped with nine airbags, with ABS, EBD, ESC, and ISOFIX child seat mounts coming as standard fitment across the range.
Based on the MQB Evo platform the Skoda Kodiaq gets a 2.0-liter TSI turbo-petrol engine which puts out 190 hp and 320 Nm of torque. It works in conjunction with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. It also gets a plug-in hybrid version in the international market but will be absent in the Indian market.
The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq will likely hit the Indian market in April and is expected to hit the showroom price with a price tag of around Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom). Once it enters the Indian market, the SUV will compete against rivals like Toyota Fortuner, Volkswagen Tiguan, Hyundai Tucson, and Nissan X-Trail.
