Tata Motors is going to expand the range of its electric vehicles sold in the Indian market. Before the launch event, the Indian automaker started teasing the vehicles via posts showing silhouettes on its social media platforms. Although these pictures do not reveal a lot of details, the new model is expected to be the Tata Harrier EV. It is to be noted that a few days ago, the brand showcased the vehicle in its production-spec version at its production facility.
Beginning with its design, the Tata Harrier EV features many elements similar to its internal combustion engine counterpart. However, it includes several unique aspects that set it apart from its petrol variant. For example, the electric SUV sports a closed-off grille and a revamped bumper design. This is characterized by vertical slats, reminiscent of what we observed on the Curvv EV. Additionally, it is equipped with LED daytime running lights and headlights that have animations. The SUV also features a new alloy wheel design optimized for improved aerodynamics.

Meanwhile, the rear continues to maintain a similar look but introduces minor modifications, including connected LED taillights. Furthermore, the rear bumper design has been adjusted to incorporate a similar vertical slat motif as seen at the front.
Inside, the Tata Harrier EV retains a layout similar to the ICE variant. Key highlights of the cabin include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 10-speaker JBL audio system, and more. The vehicle also includes features for vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-charge capabilities.
For safety, it will come equipped with features such as seven airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, electronic stability control, TPMS, and a collection of ADAS features.
The Tata Harrier EV will be based on the acti.ev architecture of the brand. Although the brand has not disclosed the specifications, it is anticipated to provide a real-world range exceeding 500 km on a single charge. With these specifications, the SUV is poised to compete effectively against models like the Hyundai Creta Electric and the Mahindra BE6 in the market.
