Tata Nexon Rivaling Volkswagen Tera Revealed: Here's All About India Bound SUV
Volkswagen Tera has been unveiled for Brazil
Volkswagen Tera has made its global debut as the brand's new entry-level SUV. The vehicle was unveiled at the Carnival celebrations at the Sambadrome in Rio De Janeiro and will be on sale in Brazil and Latin America. Designed to be an affordable model, the vehicle, when launched in India, will compete against models like Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Skoda Kylaq, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and others.

Based on the MQB-A0 platform, the Volkswagen Tera is likely to share its components with the recently launched Skoda Kylaq in India. However, it will have a completely different design in sync with Volkswagen's design language. This is slightly similar to the new-gen Tiguan and Taos facelift. This is seen in the form of an aggressive front fascia consisting of LED headlights and unique DRLs. This will be complemented by a unique honeycomb pattern grille.

On the inside, the Volkswagen Tera comes with a tech-lade layout. The highlight of the cabin includes a fully digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch infotainment system that offers connectivity features, ambient lighting, and more. For safety, the vehicle gets ADAS features along with airbags, among other things.

The powertrain details of the Volkswagen Tera have now been revealed by the Brazilian arm of the brand. However, it is expected to get a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine. This unit is paired to either a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission. This will likely have a similar tuning to the unit used in the Kylaq. This means the unit will have a power output of up to 120 hp.
