TVS Motor Company has announced plans to set up a global capability center in Karnataka while simultaneously expanding its production and engineering capabilities in Mysuru. Bringing the plan into action, the two-wheeler and three-wheeler manufacturer has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the government of Karnataka to invest Rs 2,000 crore in the next five years. Additionally, the brand plans on building a test track along with a new office in the state.

Speaking on the update, Sudarshan Venu, Managing Director, TVS Motor Company said, "We envision a capability center that will draw top talent and great ideas, and have research capability to be the birthplace of next-gen bikes. The office and allied infrastructure will bring together engineers, designers, innovators, AI and ML experts, who will define what is next! Karnataka is a place where great ideas take off and we are excited to expand our footprint in the state.”

“TVS Motor has emerged as the world's fourth largest two-wheeler company, with 58 million users globally - an achievement that would not be possible without the guidance of stakeholders in the government. As we make progress towards our 2030 goals, the plan that we have outlined today will help deliver impactful solutions in personal and commercial mobility, setting new benchmarks,” Sudarshan added.

The company presently operates three manufacturing plants in India – located in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, along with Mysuru, Karnataka, and Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh. The Mysuru facility has an annual production capability of 1.5 million vehicles, serving both local and international markets. TVS Motor highlighted that the Mysuru plant brought in Rs 7,600 crore in revenue, with Rs 1,200 crore sourced from exports. The automaker intends to double both the export figures and the overall revenue generated by the Mysuru facility.
