Volkswagen Tiguan
Volkswagen India is set to launch the Tiguan R-Line in the Indian market. Before the launch event, the brand has listed the sporty SUV on the official website. Simultaneously, the automaker has removed the standard version of the SUV, i.e., the Tiguan, from its website. It is to be noted that the vehicle was the flagship model of the brand sold in the Indian market and was sold in the Elegance version with a price tag of Rs 38.17 lakh (ex-showroom).
Competing against the likes of the Hyundai Tucson, the Volkswagen Tiguan had a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine under the hood. This unit is capable of putting out 187 hp of power and 320 Nm of peak torque. This power is transferred to the wheels using a seven-speed DSG gearbox.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan R Line enhances the Tiguan's attractiveness by introducing sporty design features. This is visible in the sportier front and rear bumpers. The presence of a rear spoiler and side panels further improves its appearance. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with new headlamps linked by an LED light strip and larger 19-inch alloy wheels and is 30 mm longer than the prior generation, while the wheelbase remains the same.
Based on the latest revelations, the Volkswagen Tiguan R Line will be available in a range of paint scheme options, including Persimmon Red Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Grenadilla Black Metallic, Oryx White with Mother of Pearl Effect, and Oyster Silver Metallic.
Constructed on the MQB Evo platform, the India-specific Volkswagen Tiguan R Line is expected to come with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 265 hp. It will be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that powers an all-wheel drive system.
