Volvo has officially announced the unveiling of the all-electric ES90 Sedan. The Swedish car maker claims that it would be its most technically advanced car. The ES90 has been scheduled for a global unveil on 5th March 2025. Here are the details, you must know about the upcoming Volvo saloon.
Volvo ES90: Software And Technology
The Swedish carmaker Volvo introduced the EV-specific SPA2 platform in 2022 and infused it into the EX90. Now, the Volvo ES90 will be the second car in the lineup based on the same platform.

It also gets an NVIDIA Drive AGX Orin that handles up to 508 trillion operations per second and is keen on enhancing the computing power of the ES90. This tech opens the door for AI features that assist the ES90 in battery optimization, sensor management, and AI-driven safety features. It has safety features like- autonomous driving, a collision avoidance system, 12 ultrasonic sensors, eight cameras, and five radars.
Volvo ES90: Exterior And Design
The exact number of its size and dimensions can only be stated post the official unveiling of the ES90. Earlier leaks have revealed that the Volvo ES90 will be slightly bigger than the S90, taping it at around 5 meters in length and along wheelbase of nearly 3.1 meters.
The Volvo ES90 seeks its design inspiration from the EX90 and features exterior elements like- vertically oriented tail lamps, a closed-off grille, and 'Thor's Hammer' headlights.

Volvo ES90: Battery And Powertrain
The Volvo ES90 gets a 110kWh battery pack which will work in conjunction with the single-motor rear-wheel drive and the dual-motor all-wheel drive trims. The dual motor trim will deliver a peak power and torque output of 408 HP and 770 Nm, respectively in the standard mode. Volvo also claims that the ES90 will provide a range of 600 km, for the single model variant.

The Volvo ES90 will be launched in China, after the unveiling and later will be set for the global market, including India. The ES90 has competitors like the Audi A6 e-tron, the BMW i5, and the Mercedes Benz EQE.
