College student Sharath is seen in a WhatsApp video after he was abducted..
Bengaluru:
On a video shot on a cellphone, the college student pleads, "Hello Appa, I have been kidnapped. They want 50 lakhs it seems. Please pay....please!"
The appeal was sent on WhatsApp from the phone of the kidnapped student, Sharath, to his parents on September 12, days before they reported him missing in Bengaluru.
In another WhatsApp video Sharath, 19, warned his parents, "They are also following my akka (elder sister), they listed all her activities, day by day. All the details are correct."
At one point, he looks off-camera and asks "Is that ok?"
This morning, his body was found floating in a lake. The six men arrested for the crime allegedly led the police to the body. It's not clear why they killed Sharath but the police believes he was murdered soon after he was abducted.
