Bangalore: Four people sustained minor shrapnel injuries when the security guard of a private bank ATM fired four rounds of bullets into the ground. The incident happened during a heated argument with a newspaper supplier in Mahadevapura here on Wednesday morning, police said.
The injured bystanders were discharged after being administered first aid at a nearby hospital.
The security guard, R K Mishra (50), who is deployed at an ICICI bank ATM in Garudacharpalya, has been arrested, police said.
The guard used to regularly buy a Hindi newspaper from a supplier. In the early hours today, furious at being charged 50 paise more for the paper for the past few days, Mishra questioned the supplier, an argument followed.
An enraged Mishra fired four rounds into the ground, in the process injuring four persons, they said.
