Bangalore: A jeweller was allegedly robbed of Rs 12 lakh cash by two people at his shop in Nagarathpet, police said.
They said that the man, owner of a unit which melts old gold and silver ornaments and gives back the metal to jewellery shops went to meet a customer at Baba market last night.
He handed over the melted gold to the jewellery shop and collected Rs seven lakh cash before returning to his shop.
After some time, two people allegedly barged into his shop, sprayed some liquid into his eyes and snatched the bag with the cash. They also took Rs five lakh cash from the shop and fled the scene.
Police are looking for the culprits and investigations are on into the matter.
