Bangalore:
A 31-year-old man allegedly strangled his one-and-half-year-old daughter and then hanged himself at home in the early hours today, police said.
The deceased was identified as Santosh Vaidya (31) who hailed from Bihar, police said.
Santhosh, who was working in a leading software firm in the city, had resigned recently and was unemployed. His wife was sleeping when the incident happened, police said, adding, the reason behind the man's actions was yet to be ascertained.
No suicide note has been found.
"We are questioning his wife and also his parents and in-laws who are residing in Bangalore," police said.
