Police are waiting for the post-mortem report to establish the cause of death of the wife of a senior scientist, who has been booked for murder.
Dharmesh (38), a senior scientist working for Shell Global Solutions was arrested yesterday for allegedly killing his wife by slapping her in course of an argument.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the inauguration of a function, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East division) P S Harsha said, "it was on flimsy grounds that Dharmesh slapped his wife. We are waiting for the post-mortem report to establish the cause and reason for death. We will look into all circumstances. We are awaiting the results of the scientific analysis. We have registered a case under the Indian Penal Code", he said.
According to the police, 37-year-old Mahalakshmi, a native of Mumbai and working as a teacher in a Montessori school in Bangalore, died after the scientist slapped her in their flat on the night of March 10.
